A
Little Poem
I was busy twiddling my thumbs one day
When I thought of something more to do.
I decided Id like to write
A little poem or two.
I never could work a puzzle.
To me writing a poem is much like one.
But when I wrote of fond memories,
I found it easy and lots of fun.
I wrote of things that interest me.
I thought Id never get through
For I kept on writing pleasant thoughts.
And now Id like sharing them with you.

BIG HEART VALENTINE
I know you’ve no money, not even a dime You’ve not
learned to write yet, not even a line. But that’s okay I heard little Molly
say. She was talking to little Chad That lived across the way.
Some day you’ll remember us kids at play So I’ll just be patient and wait
for the time. Yes, I’ll be patient and wait for the time that I’ll get from
you a Big Heart Valentine.
He seriously thought for a minute or two Then he said I know what I’ll do.
Save all my money almost every dime. I will be busy and won’t have much
time.
Yes, I’ll be busy and won’t have much time. But I’ll learn to write and I’ll
write you a line. Oh yes, I’ll remember and I will write you a line. To send
along with that Big Heart Valentine.

UNTITLED
Hopefully my spell is leaving me. Hopefully my urge to write is now gone.
I haven’t written since yesterday When I wrote Jason and Ben a little
poem. My mind is now on Thanksgiving I’m wondering if I should bake a pie.
Maybe I’ll send Deb or Dad to the store For it’s much easier to buy. Your
Ma is getting old. This poem proves it’s true. I wouldn’t want to be in
the middle of baking Then have to stop and write a little poem or two.

DO I EVER FOOL AROUND
Do I ever fool around You want to know.
If an angel ever touched the ground.
The answer is no my friend
It’s not my style to live in sin.
Temptation for me to fool around
Gets more weakened all the time.
For I feel no desire To even
want to touch the ground.
My life is stable and built so sound.
My life is built high above the ground.
And as long as I remember who and what
I am I will never fool around.
Every day that goes by
Takes me closer to that blue sky.
Maybe an angel I will never be
But I am happy, I am free.
Yes, I am happy that I am me.
So, sprout your wings and leave the ground
Leave the dirt and look around.
For there is much beauty for you to see.
So, sprout your wings and fly with me.
