Katherine VanEMBURGE, widow, of Hackinsack, Bergen County, N.J. made her
will 9 July 1742. She names children: Sarah (wife of Abraham SPIER);
Gysbert; Rachel (wife of John KING); William Standford; Johanes;
Katherine (wife of Richard GIEBS) and Peregrain. She also names
grandchildren: Guillam BARTHOLST, son of daughter, Elizabeth, deceased;
William and Mally SANDFORDTS, children of my daughter, Mary, deceased;
"unto them equally the residue of my estate, which I have upon New
Barbado Neck, according to last will of my mother, Sarah SANDFORD,
deceased." Cornelius WYNKOOP, David DEMOREST and Benjamin DEMAREST were
named executors in the will. The inventory of her estate 1 May 1745
included bonds due from Gilbert VanEMBURGH, Thomas VanDike, Frans Van den
BURGH, William ENIS, John COOL, Jacob COOL, Isaac MORRIS, David DeMAREST,
Enoch EARL, John Van BOSKERK, Jacob VanGELDER, and Oliver SCHUYLER. NEW
