bands of nomads, drifters, disobedient, land and property destroyers
live on. To anyone who owns something the vandals delighted to
rape and pillage and destroy property for all intents and purposes. It is no wonder
societies have adopted that name VANDALS to categorize such blights to a
well-meaning society.
What kind of sick mind could otherwise dream up actual electronic machinery to destroy and maim what is otherwise a useful tool for communication? During one of our world's revolutions the French people felt they had to vehemently resist (and rightly so) inequities by throwing wooden shoes into the gears of machinery to STOP production. In fact, their very ingenuous attempts caused the birth of the word sabotage - Dictionary definition: sabo - a wooden shoe; sabotage - to damage or destroy machines by using wooden shoes. PLEASE DO NOT join the ranks of the Vandals! Every time you receive an assumed hoax or a virus scare and forward same, you unwittingly have joined the ranks of the Vandals. They only cared for themselves -- and selfishness is not a societal virtue. Forwarding such assumed hoaxes and virus scares does nothing but tie up--yes, SABOTAGE the very machinery we all enjoy and utilize. The professionals tell us -- if we are listening, when REAL THREATS exist; put a reliable Virus Control web site in your system and check in on it every few days, or daily if you are really concerned and don't want to risk it, and you will be informed with ACTUAL FACTS. DO NOT FORWARD virus scares or well intentioned "facts" or "warnings". They are a waste of your time and the people to whom you send such. The same thoughts or principles apply to HOAXES. Stop and think about it; spreading false or unreasonable hopes in another person's mind to get something for nothing is comparable to gossip. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is not true so don't waste your time or your friends by forwarding those "forward to 10 friends and receive a $50 Gift Certificate, etc and etc.". |
