This guide describes how to configure a WindowsCE device for Internet connectivity.

Configuring Windows CE Dialup Networking (Manual Config)

Step 1: Setting up Dialup Networking

  1. Click START, PROGRAMS, COMMUNICATION, then CONNECTION
  2. In the Connections Window, double click on MAKE NEW CONNECTION
  3. In the box under 'Type a name for the connection:' type 'Green Apple'
  4. Under 'Select the connection type:' select Dialup Connection
  5. Click Next
  6. Click TCP/IP SETTINGS
  7. Under the GENERAL tab check the following:
    [X] Use server-assigned IP address
    [ ] Use SLIP
    [X] Use software compression
    [ ] Use IP header compression
  8. Click on the NAME SERVERS tab
  9. Check 'Use Server-assigned address'
  10. Click OK (At the Top of window)
  11. Click NEXT
  12. Enter the following:
    Country code: 1 Area Code: 740 Phone #: 654-2133
  13. Uncheck 'Force Long Distance' & 'Force Local'
  14. Click 'Finished'

Step 1: Setting up Dialup Networking

  1. Double Click on the 'Green Apple' Icon
  2. Enter your Green Apple User name
  3. Enter Your Green Apple Password
  4. DO NOT Enter a Domain Name.
  5. Click Connect.
