| Configuring Ws-Ftp95LE Ws-Ftp95LE is a Win95/98 FTP (File Transfer Protocol) application. The following assumes the program has been installed successfully. When Ws-Ftp is started for the first time up brings up the 'Session Properties' window. This window may also be reached by hitting the 'Connect' button. The configuration below creates an ftp profile needed to log into a Green Apple account. You would use such a profile to move files (e.g., HTML docs) between your local machine and your Green Apple account.
Using Ws-Ftp95LE Ws-Ftp is used to move files between your local machine and a remote machine. The first step in using Ws-Ftp is to login to an account. Click on the Connect button, choose a session profile (i.e. Green Apple) and hit Ok. If the information in the profile is correct and you have proper authentication, you will be logged into the account and machine specified in the profile. The display of Ws-Ftp at this point is split-screen. On the left are the local machine's files and directories; on the right are the remote machine's files and directories. On either the local or remote side, if you want to move down a directory, double click on the directory name; if you want to move up a directory, double click on '..'. To copy a file on the local machine to the remote machine, highlight the local file and click on '->', this will send it to the current directory on the remote machine. To copy a file from the remote side to the local side, highlight the remote file and click on '<-'. To disconnect the ftp session, press Close. To exit Ws-Ftp, press Exit. For more information on the application, press Help. |
