Starting Internet Connection

After installing and configuring your Netscape Personal Edition, you are ready to connect. Enter your user name (login name) and password and hit 'Dial' button. The modem will dial out at this point. Once connected, the system will verify the user name and password information you have entered. If these are correct and the TCP/IP setting have been entered correctly, the Internet connection should now be up. A monitor window should appear (most likely in upper right corner). You may now start (by double clicking) Netscape or any other of your Internet applications.

If this is your first time running Netscape, you should register it. While connected to Green Apple, select Help >> Registration Information and provide the necessary details for registration.

When you are finished with your session, hit the 'Disconnect' button from the monitor window: this disconnects modem and cleans up the connection.

Note: Please read the booklet that comes with your Personal Edition. It contains much useful information and is the best starting point for using Netscape and beginning your Internet exploration.
