• Hardware: 486 DX2-50, 8Mb RAM, 14.4Kbs modem, 25Mb disk space
• Software: Windows 3.1, Win32s-Ole V1.15 (see p.48 of Netscape booklet)

Installing

1. Put diskette into disk drive.
2. Choose Run from File menu in Program Manager.
3. Enter 'a:\setup' or 'b:\setup' (which ever drive you placed diskette in).

This installs software and creates program group with two icons in it: a 'Readme' (which should be read) and 'Registration Wizard' (if any questions to this point see 'Getting Started' manual that came in box, Ch4, p19).

Configuring Shiva/NTS TCP/IP Stack And Dialer

1. Double click on Registration Wizard.
2. Click OK on Welcome Screen
3. Click 'Account Type' window. Select 'Use Existing Account'. (An account must have been issued for you; if you do not have one call Green Apple, (740) 653-9890)
4. At 'Netscape Registration Wizard' window, click 'Account Setup'
5. Read intro screen and hit 'Next'.
6. Enter your Name and Organization. Hit 'Next'.
7. Enter you Login Name and Password. Hit 'Next'.
8. Enter 740 for Area Code. Depending on your location, use one of the following dial-in numbers:
            Lancaster: 654-2133 (and surrounding areas)
            Columbus: 834-5124

   Hit 'Next'.

9. For Email Login Name enter your login name; for Email Password enter your password. Hit 'Next'.
10. For Domain Information, enter
       Primary DNS Server: 192.168.187.6
       Secondary DNS Server: 192.168.187.4
    Hit 'Next'.
11. For Mail And News Information, enter
       POP Server: mail.greenapple.com
       SMTP Server: mail.greenapple.com
       NNTP Server: news.greenapple.com
    Hit 'Next'.
12. Hit 'Finish'.
13. Click 'Modem Setup'. Hit 'Next'.
14. If modem is not detected Netscape will ask for you to identify it. When modem is detected or identified hit 'Finish'.
15. Click 'Dialing Setup'. Enter 740 for area code. If your phone has call waiting, check the 'disable call waiting' with '*70'. Hit 'Next'.
    If you need prefix to get outside line, enter it. Select type of line.
16. Click 'Finish'
17. Once 'Account Setup', 'Modem Setup' and 'Dialing Setup' have been successfully completed (there will be a check mark beside each), click 'Continue' button. Enter,
       Connection File Name: MYACCOUN.SR
       Name for Program Manager Icon: Green Apple
18. From this point, the Registration Wizard will place in the program groups icons for Netscape, Netscape Handbook, Eudora and Eudora Handbook.
19. Double click on 'Green Apple Dialer' icon.
20. Select Properties >> Modem tab
       set Maximum Speed to 57600 if you have 14.4Kbs modem;
       set to 115200, if you have 28.8Kbs modem or better.
21. Select 'Service Provider' tab and verify
       Primary DNS: 192.168.187.6
       Secondary DNS: 192.168.187.4
       Domain Name: greenapple.com
22. Hit the 'OK' button.

You are ready to connect. Enter your user name (login name) and password and hit 'Dial' button. The modem will dial out at this point. Once connected, the system will verify the user name and password information you have entered. If these are correct and the TCP/IP setting have been entered correctly, the Internet connection should now be up. A monitor window should appear (most likely in upper right corner). You may now start (by double clicking) Netscape or any other of your Internet applications.

When you are finished with your session, hit the 'Disconnect' button from the monitor window: this disconnects modem and cleans up the connection.

Note: You should register your software with Netscape. See p23 in Netscape's 'Getting Started' manual.
