Configuring Outlook Express For Multiple Users

This document assumes that Outlook Express 5 or higher has been successfully installed on your computer and that you know how to configure Outlook Express for your Green Apple account.

Creating a New Identity

  1. Select File >> Identities >> Add New Identity...
  2. Enter a name for the identity in the box provided. Your first name should be sufficient.
    1. Hit 'OK' to continue without giving your new identity a password.
    2. For increased security, select 'Require A Password'. This will bring up an Enter Password box which will prompt you to enter the identity password twice. Hit 'OK'.
  3. Hit 'OK'
  4. A 'Manage Identities' dialog box should appear. In this box, all the identities that you have created will be shown. You can access this box at any time by selecting File >> Manage Identities.
  5. A second box will appear asking if you want to switch to your new identity.
    1. Hit 'Yes' to switch to your new identity and to configure the mail settings.
    2. Hit 'No' to remain at the 'Manage Identities' box.
  6. To switch to a different identity, select File >> Switch Identity...
  7. To exit your mail session, it is best to log off your current identity by selecting File >> Exit and Log Off Identity.
