An iMac running Mac OS v8.x includes the software needed to use the Internet. It comes with a modem dialer and PPP software used to establish an Internet connection and one or both of the popular Internet web browsers, Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) and Netscape Communicator.

This write-up describes how to configure the Internet Dialer software that is included with iMac systems running v8.x of Mac OS. It assumes that the machine has a modem installed and is operating correctly.

Besides this write-up, other documentation on Internet applications that run on iMacs are available from Green Apple's support library, www.greenapple.com/support/library
