Configuring Chameleon Custom Connect
The following describes how to configure
Chameleon to dialup to Green Apple. The version this document was written for
was 'Internet Chameleon by NetManage V4.5.1'. The document assumes that you
have correctly installed the package. If you have a different version of
Chameleon, this write-up may still be able to come very close to getting you
connected.
- Double click on 'Custom (Connect Here)' Icon
- Select Interface >> Add
Name: Green Apple
Type: PPP
- Select Setup >> Interface Type
Type: PPP
- Setup >> Domain Name
Domain Name: greenapple.com
- Setup >> Communications >> Port
Baud Rate: Try 57600, if you have 14.4Kbs modem or better
[Note: Chameleon has a bug trying to connect better then 57600]
Connector=Comm port of your modem
- Setup >> Communications >> Modem
Select the type of your modem.
- Setup .>> Communications >> Dial. Enter

Depending on your location, use one of the following dial-in numbers:
Lancaster: 654-2133 (and surrounding areas)
Columbus: 834-5124
- If you have call-waiting, add '*70,' as
prefix; for example, *70, 654-2133
- Setup >> Dial on Demand. Make sure it is not
checked.
- Setup >> Domain Servers
IP Address
192.168.187.6
192.168.187.5
- Setup >> Primary Interface. Make sure it is
not checked.
- File >> Save. Save configuration.
Chameleon should now be configured for autodial
to Green Apple. To test hit the 'Connect' which is on top row of Chameleon
window.
When you want to end your Internet session, go
back to Chameleon's 'Custom (Connect Here)', double click on it, and hit the
word 'Disconnect' which is on top row of this window. |
