Green Apple News: Reducing Spam Via RBL Subscription

October 31, 2002

Spam is an inherent problem on the Internet. To reduce spam, Green Apple offers customers the option to have their emails screened against a Real-time Blackhole List (RBL). An RBL is a list of servers which are known to be sending spam. If you use an RBL, email sent to you which originates from a server appearing on the list is rejected. Using an RBL is a very effective way for reducing spam. Green Apple's RBL service is free, but opt-in: to subscribe, please send an email to  ''spamcop@greenapple.com'.

For the definition of RBL, please see
