| Green Apple News: AT&T DS-3 Link Completed | |||||
| June 21, 2002
We have recently completed a major upgrade to our Internet peering services. Finalized this week, a DS-3 from AT&T has been installed, tested, and brought online to compliment our existing peering agreements with two other backbone class providers. This improvement, coupled with our Sonet Ring technology, provides performance and reliability unmatched in our service area. A DS-3 (or T-3) is a very high bandwidth telecommunications link leased from a phone carrier. A DS-3 is made of twenty-eight (28) DS-1s (or T-1) and provides an aggregate transfer rate of approximately 45Mbps. Why AT&T? AT&T provides Internet access and data services for our business with the same uncompromising standards of performance, reliability and security that have set “the standard” for network reliability. What does this mean to you? Less downtime, greater productivity and a lot less worry. With AT&T's world-class IP backbone, you’ll benefit from managed, state-of-the-art hardware and software, smart routing capability and continuous performance monitoring – backed by some of the strongest Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in the business.
